Jeff Jacoby, Host & Executive Producer
Emmy Award winning sound designer and radio producer Jeff Jacoby has been directing and producing radio and film since 1975. He runs Living Sound Productions in Bethany, Connecticut, serves on the board and faculty at several media institutions, and performs as a sound and radio artist. He has also been awarded the Cine Golden Eagle, Crystal Radio and Silver Microphone awards.
Thomas Hood, Co-Host & Co-Producer
Thomas Hood has been involved in music and sound recording since 1970. He established Hood's Woods Music, a recording and production facility in Portland, Oregon. Hood contributes programming at community radio stations nationwide, performs as a sound and radio artist, and is producing independent radio programs on a wide variety of topics.
Franklin Ruetz, Actor & Co-Producer
Franklin Ruetz has been producing and hosting radio programs since 1973, beginning his career at KPFK in Los Angeles, California. His work with The Traveling Radio Show began at KAOS and continued at KBOO-FM Portland, Oregon, where he developed characters that are still used in the program. Ruetz has also taught audio skills workshops at the college level and was honored as a 25-year station veteran at KBOO's 30th anniversary.
David Gordon, Actor & Co-Producer
David Gordon’s career in radio began at KAOS in Olympia, Washington, where he hosted and produced several programs, including working with the original Traveling Radio Show. He traveled with the original troupe and developed a knack for on-air character improvisation. He continues to develop new characters and concepts for our show.
Nikki Levine, Road Manager
Nikki Levine is a former student intern of Jeff Jacoby. She road managed for The Traveling Radio Show in New York City. She currently lives in Hollywood, California and works in the world of independent feature films on such projects as "I'm Reed Fish and The Fallen".
Washboard Slim and the Bluelights, TRS musical themes
Washboard Slim and the Blue Lights are the Jug Band of the 21st century. Originally founded in 1986, they continue to perform at major folk and roots music festivals throughout North America. Their first CD was released in 1996 to critical acclaim. W.S.B.L. maintains the spirit, humor, creativity, and musicality of the Jug Band tradition of our American musical heritage.
